And this is almost certainly caused by SMF being out of date; there was a cache bug fixed in 2.0.6 or 2.0.7 whose symptom is the above.

Anyway, navigate via FTP to your forum root, "cache" folder and delete everything inside (except for index.php and .htaccess)
