Wouldn't affect me much due to my forum's small size and having essentially unlimited server resources but I see what you're saying and it makes sense.

Yeah, it's quite expensive. If you have *LOTS* of members you can drain many many resources as you are selecting the whole members table... And if you have many themes and many members, the included foreach cyles will hammer your CPU

Something doesn't have to be commonly requested for a mod to be made for it and by expensive I assume you mean server use? If so, I can see why one wouldn't want a mod to do this.

And no one's made a mod that does this? (though I did see a 'display theme in profile' mod for 1.0)
