If you have CPanel, there are error logs, there, that you could look at.
What I'm wondering, is if your host has upgraded their server and, perhaps, not given you full CHOWN ownership of your files. They may have enabled mod_security, too. Although, I don't think that would cause this. Might be worth asking them.
