margarett: it would have been test@ domain in question since $host was pulled from $_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'] which is the same as the domain used to access the site.
For those wondering, HTTP/1.1 demands a Host: header, which is the domain you're pointing to. This should, for all legitimate HTTP/1.1 requests, always be the site you're visiting. Naturally it'll work in THAT situation when it's coming from the same domain.
This is important because anti spam filters look up the IP address the email came from, look up the domain and check the two correlate...
